Created attachment 159590 [details] Samples from GamePro QuarkXpress layout files. One of the people I follow on Twitter posted about his workflow trying to recover items from old magazine layouts, and mentioned they were QuarkXpress files. He shared some samples here: https://twitter.com/frankcifaldi/status/1240757689249976320 (attached to this bug), with some extracted graphics. I was not able to get LibreOffice Writer (6.3.5.2) to show anything useful from the files. From the thread, they're apparently QuarkXpress 3.0 files from a Mac version. I've also tried this with Scribus 1.5.5, and it won't load any of them. The 3 files are: Penn&Teller_SCD Penn&Teller_SCD_cri rev_Penn&Teller_SCD in PAGE58/Desktop/Penn_GP58 Thanks!
Created attachment 159622 [details] a conversion example Hello, yes, there look like v3 files but seem pretty complex files. Notes: - I tried to improve a little the current sources of libqxp ; currently I obtain the following results for rev_Penn... : it is pretty bad, but if you remove the empty blue squares and a "background" picture, you can see the main text reappear and ... - I stored temporarely my modifications in https://github.com/fosnola/libqxp
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
I tried on two systems with LibreOffice Fresh (version 7.2.2 & 7.2.3)- I can't even get the three files to open. When I try to open them, I always get "General Error. General Input/Output Error." If these are supposed to work, or can be imported somehow, happy to try something out. Thanks.
Still can't import in: Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha1+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 1a5d548b96d86ad7ca04c2b23dc18517a538a998 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Are files imported with lbqxp supposed to open in Writer or in Draw?
