Description:
Sidecar is a new feature introduced by Apple that allowed Mac users to do the same thing with their iPad. Users can use iPad as a second display that is perfect in the office or on the go, and using Apple Pencil for tablet input on Mac apps for the very first time. With help of this feature user could making use of iPad and Apple Pencil to preview and edit the document.

You're right to propose new enhancements but I suppose the biggest priority for Macos part is to make LO work on Catalina without any workarounds.

This is all native macOS code, essentially implementing new os API to bring in iPad as a digitizing tablet. Similar to implementing native Windows Touch API for Gestures on touch screens (i.e. bug 85677).

Sidecar also allowed to use gestures on iPad screens.
