Description:

The Major topics

Problems facing now:

1. Unstable / Unreliable of "Save" function as per topic below.
1.1 We lost Data more often or let's say once we pushed "Save" function, then exit the program or shutdown, it didn't really save in the DataBase(.odb).Once reopen again, it disappeared / gone.if we key-in directly to the Table, it no such problems at all.

Remarked the "Key-in" Form was created by “Form” wizard.

1.2 A small window pop-up and asked for Backup ,Once we save "Report" more often in “Design mode”, then recover back / restore every times when open again, make more confusing and override the latest data / last update one.

1.3 In-case of we needed to be moved the DataBase file (.odb ) to the users (Other computers / Departments ), we found that the Object property ( in "Forms", "Report" )changed by itself.

2. Our questions
2.1 Can we use / install on Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows XP ?
2.2 Does the LibreOffice version restriction on a particular Windows OS version ?

3. Our Requirements:
3.1 Could you suggest / give us a Reliable version, please ?
3.2 If we would like to get more service , how to do this ?
3.3 How much does it cost for charging the service / support ?
3.4 Can we buy a license one which more reliable / commercial ?
3.5 Is there any recommendations for using the LibreBase by smoothly and most effectively as a commercial due to fit enough to our Business needed ?

I look forward to hear from you soon and please let me know if there is any further information you require, that's it.

               Best Regards,

                   Kittisak D.

@Kittisak : sorry, but this report is either incomplete or unusable.

Please report only 1 buggy behaviour in detail per bugzilla report, with reproducible steps, and an example ODB file, not a series of multiple issues, indicating in detail what is going wrong.

Currently, it is impossisble to know :

- which database engine you are using in your ODB file ;

- how you are connecting to that DB engine (embedded hsqldb ? firebird ?, some other backend DB engine / connector ?)

- the detailed steps need to say something like this :
(1) open this sample ODB file
(2) click on Forms, open Form blabla
(3) try to enter data in Field blabla1
(4) now try to save data in Form

etc.

Without instructions like that, simply reporting that LO is unstable and crashes when using an ODB file will not help us to pinpoint the issue.

For what it is worth, if you are using the embedded hsqldb engine, it is a long known fact that such hsqldb embedded databases become unstable over time due to their reliance on Java, on LO only loading a part of the database resultset into memmory, and that the database when opened and accessed is stored in RAM. Any crash or catastrophic incident (eg. power failure) on the machine can thus affect the data held in memory at the moment of crash.

If the issue is rather specifically related to the crash reporter, again please provide step by step details with an example DB on how to reproduce the issue.

Currently marking this bug as NEEDINFO, if you are unable to provide a sample DB and detailed steps on how to reproduce the issue, then this bug will either be marked as RESOLVED INSUFFICIENT DATA, or INVALID.

Microsoft Windows

The software and hardware prerequisites for installing LibreOffice on a Windows system are as follows:

    Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, or Windows 10
Pentium-compatible PC (Pentium III, Athlon or more-recent system recommended)
256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM recommended)
Up to 1.5 GB available hard disk space
1024x768 resolution (higher resolution recommended), with at least 256 colors

Administrator rights are needed for the installation process. It is a recommended best practice to back up your system and data before you remove or install software.

For certain features of the software - but not most - Java is required. Java is notably required for Base.
