Description: I have a database of about 300 thousand rows with sales information (date, product, price, invoices etc.) in which I use excel Pivot Tables to search and use in daily basis. When trying to creat it in Calc draging the Date to column, it gives the error "Error creating Pivot Table" and that's it. The date column is formated as date. Besides that I'd like to give some feedback on pivot tables looking forward to some improvements on the tool, where is the correct place to write it? Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to insert a pivot table with multiple dates (e.g. more then 1000 different dates) 2. Insert Pivot Table trying to drag date to columns 3. Actual Results: "Error creating Pivot Table" Expected Results: I expected Calc to segment the dates into Years/Quarters/Month, and not to try to show all single dates as columns. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha1 Build ID: 6a03b2a54143a9bc0c6d4c7f1... CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded This happens on 6.x versions as well
I think a problem here is that the PIVOT creates too many columns with every day from your source, I mean it's more than Calc can shows at all and then PIVOT shows you an error. This problem should gone after correct realization of our "Jumbo" very big table feature. (see bug 50916) But please attach here your file with these 300k rows with dates
