Description: I'm not sure this is a bug, but as I read the docs a New style created from an existing style should inherit the properties of the existing style. That doesn't seem to happen, at least with Page styles. Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a new Writer document 2. View->Styles (F11) 3. Click the icon for PAGE styles (4th icon over for me) 4. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->Modify... Turn Footers ON; click OK 5. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->New... Actual Results: The resulting New style does not have Footers on. Expected Results: The New style, created from the 'Default Style', should inherit local changes to the Default Style (I assume; if not, the docs should be clarified) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Same thing happens with margins, not just Footer on/off.
(In reply to Jim Avera from comment #0) > 5. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->New... You can see in the dialog, that "Inherit from" is empty and greyed out. So you can creat a new style, but you can't set Default Style as parent style. Bug 41316 has the request to add hierarchical page styles.
