Description: I have tried clearing direct formatting and resetting paragraph and character styles but I cannot stop all characters being light brown and underlined. Unfortunately, this makes Writer unusable for now. Steps to Reproduce: I can't give steps because I don't know how this happened. I did use the hyperlink dialog and this all seemed to work okay but now I get this strange text that I can't cancel. Actual Results: Every character typed, even in the middle of a previously formatted paragraph, comes out light brown and underlined. Expected Results: Clear Direct Formatting or resetting the paragraph of character styles should change style back to the expected value. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-GB Module: TextDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Windows (All) OS is 64bit: no
If that are not changes, that are shown (please chack this under Edit => Track Changes), please check Application Colour (Tools => Options => LibreOffice => Applcation Colours). If this doesn't solve your problem, please add a sample file, that shows your problem. Thank you => NEEDINFO
It was indeed the change tracking feature. So sorry. It's one of those odd things where you can't Google for an answer because you don't know what to search on. Searching on 'unable to clear brown text formatting in libreoffice writer' is obviously not likely to find the answer. So, in summary, this is not a bug at all and can be closed. - Patrick
