Description justanotherstrange 2020-07-01 12:38:46 UTC
Description:
I am on libreoffice writer 6.3.6.2 in tabbed mode on Manjaro Linux (arch-based). LibreOffice is installed from official repos. When I use the font size shortcuts (ctrl+] amd ctrl+[), the font size counter begins to look very strange, like a bunch of numbers layered over each other. The font size still changes, but I can't tell what font size it has actually changed to. Super weird UI glitch

Steps to Reproduce:
1.(Maybe) Switch to tabbed UI
2.write some text
3.use the shortcut ctrl+] t change the font size
4. view the font size counter looking weird

Actual Results:
The font size counter looked super weird - it didn't display a number, but instead a convoluted mess of pixels

Expected Results:
The font counter would display a number

Reproducible: Always

Can not confirm on Windows builds with recent master/7.1.0
Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)

In the NB Tabbed UI, scaling the font larger or smaller updates the size box cleanly. Same for selection of word, sentence or full paragraph--the font size box updates cleanly.

Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

Kind of hijacking.. assuming being the same thing

1. Open Writer
2. Insert a textbox
3. Make the text object toolbar floating
4. Draw a new textbox

I cannot reproduce in Ubuntu/gtk3.

When I press Ctrl+] quickly, nothing happens until I stop - and then the size is updated. If I do it slowly, then the number nicely increments each time. I never seen overlapping numbers. [Tested in 7.2+, last63onmaster, 6.3.5]
