Description Albert Acer 2020-07-11 08:38:21 UTC
Description:
I am testing LO 7.0 RC1, in Spanish, using Windows 10 Professional operating system, and I can see a translation error to the Spanish language in the path Insert Menu> Format Mark> "Insert Narrow No-break Space". This error impacts all LibreOffice applications in Spanish (Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, etc).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Writer, or Calc, or Impress, or Draw, 7.0 RC1 in Spanish
2. Click on the "Insertar" Menu.
3. Click on the "Marca de Formato" option and observe the displayed submenu.
4. Search option "Insert Narrow No-break Space". There is the error: that option appears in English but it must be in Spanish.

Actual Results:
The option "Insert Narrow No-break Space" appears in English but it must be translated into Spanish.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice or Weblate should put "Insertar espacio estrecho indivisible" instead of "Insert Narrow No-break Space".
This error had been resolved in LO 6.4.4 and 6.4.5 in Spanish. However, for some unknown reason, LO 7.0 or Weblate ignores the correct translation applied in versions 6.4.4 and 6.4.5 (in Spanish).

Reproducible: Always

BUG 134727 - LO 7.0 RC1 - Spanish

In the image that I am attaching today, July 11, 2020, you can see how and where the translation error that I am reporting occurs.
Comment 2 Julien Nabet 2020-07-11 12:00:19 UTC
Indeed, there's no translation here:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/officecfgregistrydataorgopenofficeofficeui/es/?checksum=9aa067a1c69a08a4&q=+note%3AKZXXb+&sort_by=-priority%2Cposition

Now about translation, what would be the best for you?
"Insertar espacio estrecho indivisible"
In https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espacio_duro, I see:
- "espacio estrecho indivisible" (as Albert proposed)
- "espacio de no separación"
- "espacio fino"
- other?

Also, what about putting shortcut on "i"? (since it's not already used in this submenu)
Comment 3 Albert Acer 2020-07-12 04:15:29 UTC
Other optional translations, with the same meaning in Spanish, may be:
"Espacio estrecho de no separación"
"Espacio estrecho no separable"
"Espacio estrecho inseparable"
"Espacio Fino de no separación"
"Espacio fino no separable"
"Espacio fino inseparable"
Comment 4 Adolfo Jayme Barrientos 2020-07-13 11:36:40 UTC
Fixed
Comment 5 Albert Acer 2020-07-13 18:51:30 UTC
Adolfo: Pregunto, esta solución también tendrá un impacto positivo en la próxima LO 6.4.6?

Adolfo: I ask, will this solution also have a positive impact on the next LO 6.4.6?
Comment 6 Albert Acer 2020-07-13 19:09:38 UTC
Sorry: I withdraw the question expressed in comment No. 5. Not applicable. Excuse me.
However, I want to express thanks to Adolfo and Julien for their work in LibreOffice, making this software an intangible asset for all humanity.
