Don't make the user fix the bug

I've just opened Writer and saw this tip of the day:

"Your Writer document didn't reopen with the text cursor at the same editing position it was when you saved it? Check Tools > Options > User Data > First/Last name is not empty."

This doesn't make any sense to me as a user. Why do I need to enter my name in order for Writer to remember the cursor position?

If there's some arcane technical/developer reason for this, it should be hidden from the user (e.g. by generating some fake name). But the cursor should be preserved along with the privacy of users who don't want to enter any name.

Because Writer remembers a cursor position in a text only if you'll enter a user name in the dialog from menu Tools > Options > User Data > First/Last name.
it works so by design
so it isn't a bug anyway
