Description:
libreoffice calc sort function is very slow compared with version 6.0.7.3.

I am trying MX19 and Mint and use calc a lot. On the newer Linux distros, the sort funcyion is extremely slow and unreliable, compared with the version on Xubuntu 18.04 and Debian 10, so I am stuck. Is safe to replace newer versions with 6.0.7.3 or id there some other fix/ TY! 

Actual Results:
open calc. click data, click sort, go make a cup of tea while it opens!

Expected Results:
someties it opens, other times freezes

I just fixed this.
I looked up how to downgrade on MX19  to an older LO.
However, I saw how to upgrade and that's what I did.
I am now using 6.4.5.2 and it is much quicker.
Perhaps it was a compatibility conflict.
Anyway, that seems the best solution.
