Description Albert Acer 2020-07-30 09:52:08 UTC
Description:
When I am testing LibreOffice Draw 7.0 RC2 in Spanish, I have found a translation error in the "Text" Tab of the new User Interface with Tabs. This only happens when I insert a Text Box and then I write a word on the active page where I am doing a graphic design job. At that time a new tab appears with the name "Text" in English instead of being in Spanish as it should be. This translation error also affects all previous versions of LO Draw in Spanish (6.3.X, 6.4.X, including 6.4.5).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Draw 7.0 RC2 or 6.4.5 in Spanish.
2. Activate the new User Interface (UI) with Tabs: >"Ver"> Interfaz de Usuario> "En Pestañas".
3. Click on the "Inicio" Tab.
4. Click on the "Cuadro de Texto" icon.
5. Click on the design workspace.
6. Write a word, for example "LibreOffice"
7. Observe the tabs bar. There is the translation error. The "Text" tab
   appears in English but not in Spanish as it should be.

Actual Results:
The "Text" tab appears in English but not in Spanish as it should be.

Expected Results:
LibreOffice should rename the new tab by putting "Texto" (in Spanish) instead of "Text" (in English).
This solution should appear in the final LO Draw 7.0 and also in LO Draw 6.4.6 in Spanish.

Reproducible: Always

I have Internet connection problem to Weblate right now, and can't check, but I found the two strings Albert referred to, with their KeyIDs:

Tab: PQtWE||T_ext
Drop-down button: 94L75||T_ext

Will look at Weblate later if no one beats me to it.

The Spanish translations are indeed missing:

https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/sdmessages/es/?checksum=58b8cfe412d33b48
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/sdmessages/es/?checksum=faf836b91d8f2ff9

Unfortunately I don't have enough privilege on Weblate to change Spanish translations. So I'm CC:ing Julien and Adolfo.

It seems we can use the same keyboard shortcut Alt+E, so the correct translation for both strings should be "T~exto" here. The links I gave are for the master branch, but the translation should be populated to 6-4 and 7-0 branches automatically by Weblate.

I made the changes.
Remark: for https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/sdmessages/es/?checksum=faf836b91d8f2ff9, I used "T_exto" since the initial string is "T_ext" (and not "T~ext")

Since typing "Alt" didn't make appear the shortcuts, I kept the "e" for both.

Thanks Julien.

Of course. I didn't look carefully and assumed they are the same.

Meanwhile, there is also the same two strings for the "Notebookbar Compact" interface (why they are separate strings for translation is beyond me), would you please translate them as well?

https://weblate.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/sdmessages/es/?checksum=f910f3f3d318cb92
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/sdmessages/es/?checksum=c2cb8bfc537850af

I also checked Weblate and confirmed that the translations have been indeed automatically propagated to 6.4 and 7.0 branch. So this will be fixed in 6.4.6 and 7.0.1 (we just missed the 7.0.0 windows, as RC3 was released last week).

The changes have been synced to git now for 6.4 branch:

https://git.libreoffice.org/translations/+/d03e92fd5d821662dc0ed7d9a0a2b45da09de8a4
(specifically https://git.libreoffice.org/translations/+/d03e92fd5d821662dc0ed7d9a0a2b45da09de8a4%5E%21/source/es/sd/messages.po)

7.0 branch and master have different schedules, so the users will have to wait a bit longer, but let's mark this bug as FIXED.
