Description dainius.mazuika 2020-08-21 09:23:02 UTC
Description:
Fatal error message during installation: "Error 1304.Error writing to file. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msvcp_140_1.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory."
Yes - there is no space after .dot :).
Retry / Cancel buttons.

Previously, it wa a warning about msvcp_140.dll, but there was a button "Ignore". Message about msvcp_140_1.dll poped out after clicking "Ignore".

I was prompted to provide admin rights during installation, I clicked OK, so installer should have write access to that directory.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch installation on win 10 x64;
2. Click OK when prompted UAC (admin rights) dialog;
3

Actual Results:

FYI: there are existing msvcp_140xx files inside SysWOW64 directory, so no need to replace them.

Does this still happen with 7.1 installers? I've never seen this myself on Win
Comment 4 dainius.mazuika 2022-01-11 15:10:09 UTC

Thanks for following up. Let's use worksforme as we don't know the reason it works now.
