Win10 18362. all latest MS updates.
various extensions applied all working in latest 6.x
in Options - libreoffice - general. does not open big enough to see the last file associations fully. nor a vertical slide to get there. only manually expanding the popup window can it be seen.
open and it is good.
open a simple odt in read-only. I see the document display, then LO disappears. No crash notes or notification.
This is first use of 7.0.1.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.retried 3 times
2.
3.

Actual Results:
ods document set for read only. 1 page, rtf type formatting. It is opened up and display in LO. Then disappears.

Expected Results:
The document stays and I go to edit mode.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This runs in VMWare but has never been a problem for any app before, including any use of LO.

Try this:
Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Factory Settings - and check that 2 options and Restart.

See if the problem is still there.

I saw the reset post. Sorry. No, I do not want to lose all the extensions and all the settings and all the history. I use over 20 extensions. Is there another way to isolate the offender(s).
Comment 6 BogdanB 2020-09-08 18:56:45 UTC
I have no ideea.
In my case the option to not reset LO after each install would do in some errors, so I prefer to have a minimal setup and a fresh install.

Anyway, I supose you can backup your profile for LO and if anything works wrong you can restore that profile.

Not clear why you reported. If this is only for specific files, attach some.
If for all, than its most likely your profile, you need to test empty and isolate problem by deleting extensions.

OK. I realize the response is a good one. I personally do not wish to lose all my time for all the extensions I have installed.
It fails on all documents. So I will wait for future updates to see if it gets better. I do have another win10 I use, as well as Kubuntu 20.04 that work with 6.x installed.
I do thank you for your responses. They were helpful.
SO I guess this can be closed. I guess you do that. Have a great week.

You still may make a copy of the profile, as advised, and then delete ext. 1 by 1.
And when you find the culprit, remove only that.
In the meantime, I close.
