Description Thomas Leigh 2020-09-14 18:31:43 UTC
Description:
I use LibreOffice under Windows 7 32-bit, dark-themed. I’ve changed LO UI colors to make it as dark-themed as possible. After updating to LO 7.x white triangles have showed up throughout the office’s apps (screenshot [here](https://cloud.trailofthelight.xyz/wl/?id=mPhF0Bb4fphoDnMGBqyMGqiYeFha6jyv))...

It seems that triangles are showing up only if I use Windows 7 custom dark theme. If I use the original Windows 7 theme, LO stays mostly light (whether I choose light or dark LO theme).

Since this thing has not occurred before LO 7.x maybe something could be done to prevent it?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use dark-themed LO 7.x under dark-themed Windows 7 32-bit (theme called Kuro: https://www.deviantart.com/aaron-a-arts/art/Kuro-2010-for-Windows-7-148867211 ).

Actual Results:
There are strange white triangles throughout UI, like [here](https://cloud.trailofthelight.xyz/wl/?id=mPhF0Bb4fphoDnMGBqyMGqiYeFha6jyv) .

Expected Results:
No triangles, like it has been before 7.x.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
It displays unexpected white triangles.

In safe mode it looks [like this](https://cloud.trailofthelight.xyz/wl/?id=Wh26uX2KZSFzpVq0W1AGIhUZ0RHcnTUJ) - so there are less triangles, black and white this time.

You could try to reset user profile.

Help - Restart in Safe Mode - Factory settings.

And you will have a default and clean installation

After that you could try again to personalize your LibreOffice installation

Likely a result of the fix for bug 130991. The size of the triangle is now calculated from a fixed value and the system scaling factor. For whatever reason the scaling factor seems to be large in your setup. Do you have any UI scaling enabled? Or multiple monitors with different scaling? The latter is not handled correctly by the fix. OTOH the icon size looks ok, which uses the same factor. Very strange.

“Do you have any UI scaling enabled? Or multiple monitors with different scaling?”

As far as I know, no. I just use larger font throughout Windows 7 UI, but I’ve set larger font for several items by hand - I’ve not used OS-wide UI up-scaling.

Oh, and a single monitor.

Can I have a similar effect trying a fresh new portable installation of LO? I’ve just tried that - the triangles are still there, from the get-go.
