I can NO LONGER trust LibreOffice with important documents. I just lost the end of a VERY important document because it crashed, for no apparent reason, and the recovery file 'failed' to restore. What I was writing was extremely personal and profound and took a lot of time to get out of my head and down on (virtual paper), and now it is lost and I will NEVER be able to recreate it again...this is WHY I write it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to recover the file when I restarted LO Writer and it failed. I then restarted the app again, and now the recovery dialog comes up with the file marked 'failed' and won't even let me try to recover. I can't save my file(s) either manually or automatically with every letter I type!!!!!!!!!!!!! I depend on the file recovery mechanism, and you can't even get that, seemingly simple, thing right. WHAT THE F***!!!!!!!!!!!!
1) Whatever the software, if it's VERY important, you should make backups 2) LibreOffice is a free software and lots of people are just benevolent 3) On which env are you? (Windows, Mac, Linux) What version? 4) 6.0.2 is quite old, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 are EOL Last stable LO version is 6.4.6 Finally could you try to rename your LO directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Corrupted_user_profile) and try to open the file? If your file can't be opened, it'll be difficult (impossible?) to help since I expect you won't upload a file containing "extremely personal".
