Description Justin 2020-10-09 19:36:22 UTC
When I am editing a document and then I go to another app such as a Web Browser and then come back to Writer, I notice occasionally the Editing view freezes. , but I have been noticing it more. I was editing and went to my web browser to research. When I came back to Writer I noticed that I couldn't type. My cursor was at the end of a sentence but when I started typing, nothing happened. I tried clicking in other parts of the document to see if the cursor would go somewhere else, but it was still stuck. However, I could move my cursor across the buttons and top tab bar and those light up/come into focus. It just seems like the Editing page/view is the one that keeps getting frozen. I cannot get this to reproduce 100% of the time though.

To test and see if I was able to reproduce this again just now, I did the following.
I had a document opened in Writer.
I opened up Language Tool (the offline version) while having Writer opened, minimized and in a document.
Once it opened up, I went back into Writer (I had it minimized), and the editing page/view, was frozen again.

However, I attempted it a second time and the editing page did not freeze. I do not recall having this issue on the 6.4.6 release.

My specs on my desktop are:
Windows 10 2004 Update
Intel i7-4th Gen CPU
32GB RAM

Hello Justin,

Thank you for reporting the bug.
It seems you're using an old version (7.0.0) of LibreOffice.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.

Yes I can give it a try. I can give it a go later today in a VM as I have now switched to fully Linux on both my machines. Going to try in a Windows VM to try to keep things as close to the same as I can for when I had the issue previously.

Just as a follow up. I cannot seem to reproduce this issue. I tried a variety of ways of what I got it to work, at least sometimes, before but I cannot seem to reproduce this on the latest Fresh build. 7.0.3 is what I was using when testing again yesterday and a little bit today. Going to go ahead and mark this as resolved. Will keep an eye on if this issue happens again. But I have a good feeling that it will not.
