Description: Hi Folks, it is possible in CALK to "for formatting / layout purposes" to connect cells. For example you select two Cells (side by Side) or simmilar vertically an combine them. It seems to me, "that" Layout is often to be applied to a whole branche of a CALK Sheet. Have a look to the uploaded screen shot. REQUEST :: ---------- If a branch of a sheet is selected, the "Connecting Cells" dialog, could be enhanced. Connect cells of selected brannch either "side by side" or even "vertically". You will get it as "one picture tells more than thousand words". king regards jürgen Actual Results: // Expected Results: // Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: schreen shot

I think I saw the same request before, but I can't find it now Let's ask UX-team anyway
"Merge Cells" (Verbinden) will combine all selected cells into one. Do you mean to have more fine-grained options like Merge All Merge per Column Merge per Row Do you expect "Split Cells" (Trennen?) to offer the same options?
Hallo Heiko, GENAU DAS ! YES exactly! By default the option MERGE ALL is to be executed. It is NOW the only one Option available. The further two Options Merge per Column Merge per Row, seems to me CAN ONLY be ENABLED and executed, if the user selects a partition of a sheet with at least two ore more rows AND at least two or more coloumns. (square or rectangular partition) OTHERWISE only cells of ONE ROW, or only Cells of ONE COLOUMN are selected where on ONLY Merge ALL can be executed. And the other options doesnt make any sense at all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The TARGET for the developers was to have loops on rows or loops on coloums and do execute the DEFAULT Option each. AND examining on the branch / partition (size) which option is possible at all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I cannot imagine, if there comes up a MESS with cell indices running such a loop, if one ore more of the selected cells to be merged were merged //MULTIMERGED// before at execution time) Same on SPLIT? -------------- With the MESS ASSUMPTION mentioned before ... ?! Why not. May be ... the loop indices should run from bottom to top and end to beginning. Working on MERGE might not be THAT torture ... BUT if on SPLIT too it is wanted, simultaneously working on it could be recommendet. ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE, A MACRO / BASIC Developer can realise such a loop from outside in a few minutes ! ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- and check the functionality, usability and BENEFIT. -comes up to me just now!- Grüsse aus Dortmund kind regards from germany Health to all ! jürgen
Let's add the merge UNO commands but not split.
Created attachment 167449 [details] Splitting funcinaltity allready in
Hallo Heiko, HI folks ----------- The nessessary parts for SPLITTING is allready IN ! In the attachmen "split 1" i have created some merged cells, selecting and splitting "such merged cells in an "area" of the sheet is possible. I think "working" on an analogy to "merging" is area-selected" cells wasted time on needles stuff. Best wishes jürgen
