Description: I usually can just drag any image (png, whatever) into an open page of LO Draw, but I'm getting a "do not enter" symbol regardless which image I try, and they won't drag and drop into the document Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start a new LO Draw document 2. Attempt to drag an image onto a slide Actual Results: Unable to drag and drop Expected Results: Image should be placed into document. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: This bug occurred in Windows. Please test using Windows. Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) Build ID: eeed9103350d886f5913aed9b525d863a421dffa CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20246; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Also broken in the second daily build released today: Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) Build ID: 525623ecd70ec66c4c06ac1c3369d5b24a2890be CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20246; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
I can copy (control-C) an image displayed in a Microsoft Windows explorer window and paste it (control-V) into Draw. But we still have somehow lost the ability to drag and drop.
Reproduced on Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 7dc234fa57ca409d0db131c93abea738014b5e1f CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN.UTF-8); UI: zh-CN Calc: threaded I see the following in console output: > warn:vcl:7402:7402:vcl/source/window/dndeventdispatcher.cxx:137: rejecting drag enter due to missing listeners. > warn:vcl:7402:7402:vcl/source/window/dndeventdispatcher.cxx:185: rejecting drag over due to missing listeners. > warn:vcl:7402:7402:vcl/source/window/dndeventdispatcher.cxx:185: rejecting drag over due to missing listeners. > warn:vcl:7402:7402:vcl/source/window/dndeventdispatcher.cxx:185: rejecting drag over due to missing listeners.
(In reply to Kevin Suo from comment #3) Well, that was a mistake -- I dragged to the wrong window. Now I can not reproduce on Linux on master.
Still a problem under 7.2.0.0 alpha 0 Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: f313e27fb7f2d42247407e26e16f264e30f87ca5 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20262; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Thank you for reporting the bug. Unfortunately without clear steps to reproduce it, we cannot track down the origin of the problem. Drag and drop is working for me in Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) Build ID: 91c5642bf0ee48ff91181d779c3a84c768f340df CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL Please provide a clearer set of step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce the problem. I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once the steps are provided
1. Launch LibreOffice from Microsoft Windows 2. Open the LibreOffice Draw application 3. Open a Microsoft File Explorer Window 4. On the Microsoft File Explorer Window, navigate to a picture, such as a PNG 5. Attempt to drag the picture from the File Explorer Window onto LO Draw Result: While attempting to transfer image onto a Draw slide, a no-entry icon appears, and the transfer fails.
Still happening in: Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: a470932949c3e8ee28aaf77a71a90a957bbfe1ce CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20262; UI render: default; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
And in: Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: a470932949c3e8ee28aaf77a71a90a957bbfe1ce CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20262; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Still can't reproduce in Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 32fdb8eb3506bc8dcf013cc713fe8e5debceb940 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL
It works here: Version: 7.0.3.1 (x64) Build ID: d7547858d014d4cf69878db179d326fc3483e082 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20262; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded But not in 7.2.0.0. I stand by my assertion. If need be, I'll find a way to make a video of it. I am on a development ring of Microsoft Windows, but that development ring allows me to drag and drop in 7.0.3.1, but not 7.2.0.0. This problem will more than likely manifest itself for everyone once the released version of Windows catches up to the development version I'm using, and I can't believe that I'm the only one experiencing this problem now.
Figured it out. You cannot drag and drop when LO runs as administrator. I turned off run as administrator in Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 32fdb8eb3506bc8dcf013cc713fe8e5debceb940 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 20262; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded and the drag-and-drop worked. I'm not sure what I lose by not having LO run as administrator, but I think this detail needs to be documented somewhere. Do I mark this bug as works for me, and create a new one specifying that drag and drop fails when LO runs in administrator mode, or do we keep with this one?
(In reply to mwtjunkmail from comment #12) > Figured it out. > > You cannot drag and drop when LO runs as administrator. That's the point. Now I can repro it too running as administrator in Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 32fdb8eb3506bc8dcf013cc713fe8e5debceb940 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL It's still possible to insert the png image by Insert - Image. > Do I mark this bug as works for me, and create a new one specifying that > drag and drop fails when LO runs in administrator mode, or do we keep with > this one? I believe you can just edit this report.
Drag-and-drop while running LO in administrator mode in Windows is still a problem in: Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 2a151d1d5bc055d5e0011460b6ec42ea9f34f880 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL
I'm closing this bug because drag-and-drop while in admin mode in Paint.net and Inkscape 1.1 isn't working either, so it's not LO's problem, it's a Windows restriction.
