Description: Following a startup tip about creating interactive PDF forms, I followed the link from the tip (https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-create-interactive-pdfs-with-libreoffice/), created a simple test form, exported to PDF, but this PDF has no data entry interaction at all. :-/ Steps to Reproduce: 1. create new ODT 2. define some labels and some interactive form fields 3. save and export to PDF 4. open the PDF and try to enter data into the fields Actual Results: You can't enter any data into fields, check boxes don't react to clicking, etc. Expected Results: A PDF interactive form Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 6.4.7.2 Build ID: 639b8ac485750d5696d7590a72ef1b496725cfb5 CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.13.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx; Locale: hr-HR (en_HR.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded
Created attachment 167081 [details] ODT with test interactive form
Created attachment 167082 [details] exported PDF that should be an interactive form
Tested with attached ODT file, exported to PDF, no issue for me. Worth noting that Firefox gave an alert saying "The filling of form fills is not supported", but using another viewer worked with no problem. Version: 7.0.4.0.0+ Build ID: 710947f020eb5dda72add8a08534a4836732e596 CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.13.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
For me it didn't work with any of the PDF readers I tried: Adobe Reader DC (latest) Soda PDF Apple Preview app what another viewer did you use? You did try this on a macOS, not Windows or Linux?

He tried it on macOS as can be read from his version information
Emil: I think you are exporting the PDF with some settings that make it not work. Are you sure you had "Create PDF form" checked in the export dialog? Also, you did not have "Archive" checked? It might mess things up. I tried the PDF that you attached and it indeed does not work. If I export it myself on Windows or Linux, it works fine. Edge & Acrobat Reader on Win 10, Okular on Linux.
Thanks for your help, Buovjaga. I didn't check "Create PDF form" (because I simply directly clicked on Export PDF on the toolbar). :-) However stupid of me it seems now, I justify myself by quoting the text from the article I linked in the bug report (and which is referred in the startup tip I actually followed): **** When you've added the necessary elements to your document, click File | Export as PDF, ____a_c_c_e_p_t___t_h_e____d_e_f_a_u_l_t_s____, click Export, give the document a name, select a location to save the document, and click Save. **** I do apologize again, but someone take this to the attention of the article author because his instructions *ARE WRONG*. Thanks!
