Description Linde Merrick 2020-11-15 11:53:20 UTC
Description:
Using the "New Database" process, I can't create a database from my existing Calc spreadsheet. Have uninstalled LO 6.4 and reinstalled LO 7.0 but no improvement. The first screen on Database for create a new database shows embedded database of HSQLDB. Is this what is causing the problem?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Calc spreadsheet, then File, New , Database
Use Database wizard to create and register database
Save database
Open database to use data in tables
2.
3.

Actual Results:
New database not listed

Expected Results:
New database should be in list and should be able to see Calc sheets

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Need created database and tables to generate labels for posting large number of letters.

The first step seem to be wrong for you:
When you want to connect to a spreadsheet (Calc) you have to choose "Connect to an existing database" - not: "Create a new database". Base is only the GUI for different databases, an the data are stored in a «database» like your Calc file.

Thank you for this Robert. Now managed to get the database and print off my labels.
