Hi Telesto,
Could you please try to reproduce it with a master build from
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ ?
You can install it alongside the standard version.
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the master build

It does..
Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 18771471f75685a6d3838a22d16dcff5c398e652
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

Calc: CL

Not sure if this being a problem or 'by design'

Telesto, I can't seem to see what the issue is. Any chance you can record a short video of what you see? Do you expect the sidebar to not budge at all when reloading the file?

Tested:

Version: 7.3.0.0.beta1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 436f14c25ec1847646b953cf13d0db4f7ca3be57
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

.. and a variety of other VCL plugins.
