Description bmuenst 2020-12-17 15:52:33 UTC
This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is br-ef0c7774-b92c-4b93-86bf-51c7200f134b.
=========================================
I opened a document, created a new, copied text from a PDF (Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) in the new one, wondered that the line feeds don't fit, and pressed Ctrl-Z for undo. Then LibreOffice Writer crashed.

Do you reproduce this with last LO version 7.0.4?

Indeed, even if the bug is confirmed with 6.4.7, there won't be a new 6.4 version (at least from TDF).
Comment 2 bmuenst 2020-12-17 20:35:20 UTC
Oh, the version 6.4.7.2 is not the stable version any more. Although https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ say this.
Ok, i installed the Version 7.0.3 and I can reproduce the behavior.
(I did not installed release 7.0.4, because I'm no "technology enthusiast".)

Any change to share the PDF in question.. ideal public, privately can be arranged (I think). Also which PDF viewer do you use? I suspect Acrobat, but..

Another way (bit more technical, but saves to trouble of selecting the right area/and PDF reader differences)
1. Download and launch https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/inside_clipboard.html
2. Copy the text from the PDF in question (so part causing the crash after undo)
3. File -> Save -> Save the current clipboard data to .clp file.
4. Upload the clp data here. The CLP file does contain the clipboard content.. (so if selected area is not for public, it's a no go)

Looking at crash reporter back trace .. looks like a known crash belonging to this meta bug:

The source file for the copy.

The PDF is atacched in 2020-1124_Anschreiben_Kandidierende-1.pdf.
I marked the text (inclusive) between "Sehr geehrte Frau/Herr" in the second passage and "mit Ihnen abstimmen." in the third last passage and copied it with Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V in the new Writer document.

I use Adobe Acrabat Reader DC, Version 2020.013.20074 as PDF reader.

Hello,
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Comment 8 bmuenst 2021-07-08 20:07:28 UTC
I can't reproduce the bug with LO version 7.1.4.2. Thanks.
