Hi! it would be great to having the search terms list within its dropdown menu to be developed when we click inside the field, not only when we click on its arrow on the right. Specially because this search&replace window is not resizeable, whereas it could, should be :), as it's somehow too wide.
In my opinion when I am in the field I want to change the term. So, I don't ned any list. I never used dropdown. You mean something like an inteligence remebering a previous expresion if already search for?
Created attachment 169456 [details] Explanation Hi! we often want, for example when we write a book, to perform several searches with the same search term at different moments. No new AI thing, when you develop the the drop down the used terms are memorized within the same writing session, it's already working this way; please watch my screenshots. We must click the arrow on the right, it should be much more convenient to having the dropdown developed by clicking inside the dropdown menu. Again, kindly please, make the search&replace window resizeable, it's pure UX... :)
Livine, in LibreOffice bugzzila we report one bug at a time. So, if you want report another bug about Find & Replace being resizable. This one will be about already used terms in Find & Replace window to be accessible from input search, meaning if I understand correctly to be easy to get while typing in the search bar.
Look, by writing here I try to help, so, kindly please, be flexible!
I understand your intention, but as you can NOT be in 2 different places in the same time, bugs here are considered and solved one by one, each one reported as single problem. Because one problem can be aproved and other don't. So, the bugs reported have to be reported in separated bugs. Thanks for your understanding. It's not about being unpolite, but this is how reporting LO bugs works.
And, by the way, thanks for reporting, this way LO could improve in the future.
Sounds like an annoying "feature" for many if the list expands on every click.
I think something like google is showing based on first character. And just that element to be shown taht meet the creiteria of first caracter.
(In reply to BogdanB from comment #8) > I think something like google is showing based on first character. And just > that element to be shown taht meet the creiteria of first caracter. Fair enough. Let's expand the dropdown if the number of previous searches matching the current input is less than 20, or so. To avoid too much noise I would start not before 3 characters have been entered. Would have bet that we discussed this before but cannot find a ticket.
