Description Dan 2021-02-14 15:08:02 UTC
Description:
He there,

I am a newbie in LibreOffice and use it for a stocks handling with Financials-Extension https://github.com/cmallwitz/Financials-Extension, this extension is collecting realtime data from financial services (also asking for adding this useful extension to the official extension list instead of outdated SMF Extension on Libreoffice extensions catalog).

So, the problem is, I have a sheet with stocks (not so many) and different formulas.

If AutoCalculate is ON and I modify any unrelated to formulas or empty cell Calc starts recalculating all the data including financial-extension data, which takes a lot of time for the extension (about 40 seconds). To modify 10 cells I need spend 7 minutes...

If I create new sheet and put manually some formulas for the extension, all works fine! No excessive re-calculatings. But if I copy-paste all the data to the new shet, it works the same bad.

Cant understand whats wrong with this sheet. Looks like some bug inside.

Steps to Reproduce:
0a. install pip for python
0b. make command "c:\Program Files\LibreOffice\program\python.exe" -m pip install python-dateutil pytz pyparsing
0c. install financial-extension https://github.com/cmallwitz/Financials-Extension
1. open the example sheet
2. modify random empty cell
3. wait for 40 seconds
4. ?
5. profit

Actual Results:
Calc re-calculating all data in all cells after modyfing any empty cell, which spends a lot of time.

Expected Results:
Calc will re-calculate only cells related to modified cell.
Calc will not re-calculate cells which is not related to modified cell.

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the report.
Have you mentioned the issue on the project's GitHub?
Does it still happen with the latest version of the extension, from July 2023 (at the time of writing) and the latest version of LibreOffice?
