Description: Last year I made lecture slides with google docs, then downloaded as pptx and continued editing with libre office impress. This year I open the same files again and some of the images become extremely blurry. With some images it is possible to zoom in (using ctrl + mouse wheel), or enlarge them (clicking and draging the green markers) and they become good again. But this is not always possible. It seems that images that can be fixed, are exported correctly to pdf, but those that stay broken are not. Due to zooming fixing the issue, I suspect some sort of LOD issue, i.e. the wrong LOD level being loaded. I'm using Kubuntu 20.10 with Xorg and an NVidia GPU. I tried the stock libre office packages (i think 7.0.3 or 4) and the 7.1.0.3 .deb packages from the libre office download page. At the beginning I had a display scaling factor of 1.25 and hardware acceleration enabled, but switching both options off didn't help. Steps to Reproduce: 1. open the attached documents 2. go few slides down 3. at some point you should see super blurry cats and equations Actual Results: Some images are unacceptably blurry although the resolution is fine Expected Results: images should be rendered with their actual resolution. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.1.0.3 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: f6099ecf3d29644b5008cc8f48f42f4a40986e4c CPU threads: 24; OS: Linux 5.8; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 Locale: en-IE (en_IE.UTF8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded

Created attachment 170025 [details] Issue happening with this file (odp version) I think the odp version has more 'good' images
Created attachment 170026 [details] poor blurry cat
Created attachment 170027 [details] sharp and happy cat. so here i zoomed in a bit and the cat became sharp. also checkout the TU Wien logo, same thing happens there.
Created attachment 170028 [details] very blurry equations these guys stay blurry even when zooming in. at some point I started to use TexMaths (http://roland65.free.fr/texmaths/docs.html), but I don't remember when.

Do you mean blurred formula in slide 25? The formula is also blurred in Powerpoint. Otherwise, please, indicate the exact slide where the issue is reproducible
the logo on the top right has the problem and the cat on slide 24 of the odp. the equation on slide 25 of the pptx might have broken during the google docs export (so please ignore it). i suspect, that this has to do with the resolution of the display. many macs have hi dpi screens, so they might not show the issue (or you have to zoom out further). i also didn't see these issues during presentation, but that might be because the zoom level (it did.
erm, some how i didn't finish the previous message: (it did appear in the presentation console). I also just noticed the following: - it is sporadic, it appears on some zoom levels, but not on all. zooming closer always fixes it at some point. while zooming out, it is sharp on few zoom levels, but blurry on most. - in my 7.0 stock packages, at some point i didn't have the plasma integration packages installed. the generic win98 like gui was shown and it seemed that the problem was at least better. I then tested the gtk and qt/kf5/plasma guis and both had blurry images.
I reproduced the logo blurriness in 7.1, but not with 7.3, so I will close this. Arch Linux 64-bit Version: 7.3.1.3 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 30(Build:3) CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.16; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US 7.3.1-1 Calc: threaded
