Description Eyal Rozenberg 2021-02-24 14:48:51 UTC
Suppose you:

1. Open the Properties sidebar.
2. Select the content area on the current slide.
3. Press the "Increase Font Size" button

the font size increases, but the selection is lost. But that's not all - with the selection lost, the side-bar switches to Slide Layout, so if you intuitively try continue to press the size-increase button a few more times - you're actually making slide layout changes.

Frustrating!

Using:

Version: 7.1.0.3 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: f6099ecf3d29644b5008cc8f48f42f4a40986e4c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: he-IL (en_IL); UI: en-US

but I don't believe this is a new issue.

Ran into this one too today.

My steps:

1. Open impress
2. Select default text box on slide (the one with "Click to add text")
3. Expand sidebar, Properties deck
4. Click on "Increase font size" or "Decrease font size" buttons

Observed: text box selection is lost. But it is inconsistent, and I am not sure how to make it happen consistently.

I have seen it happen in 7.2 beta1 and 7.3 alpha0, on Ubuntu 18.04.

Changing to Linux only for the moment, until someone sees it on another OS.

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2)

I am unable to reproduce this with:

CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_IL); UI: en-US

but will try again with some nightlies or 7.2RC1 later.

Comment 5 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2023-07-04 09:29:48 UTC
Can't reproduce anymore either (tried 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.6 and 24.2).
Eyal, can you please try again?
If you can't either, we might close this as "works for me" or even "insufficient data" as I can't reproduce even in the versions affected in comment 1.
Comment 6 Buovjaga 2023-07-12 07:14:27 UTC
Let's close as WFM for now.
Comment 7 Eyal Rozenberg 2023-07-12 21:54:50 UTC
I can also no longer reproduce this.
