Created attachment 170070 [details] File from Inside Clipboard with some text that displays the error. Editing bug in LibreOffice Writer 7.0.4.2 (and older), Windows 10 Home 64bit. Editing a text after the first save introduces errors into the file that only become visible when viewing text in a different way - ie. c/p text into Patreon or by changing the styles (text body mostly). (These are the ways I noticed it.) 1) When copying edited text (that looks perfectly normal in LO) into the Patreon post window, the text loses spaces. That ONLY happens in text that I have edited after the first save. (I have a screenshot from a posting window in Patreon.) 2) Changing the text style in LO Writer when editing after the first save results in the new text retaining the old default style. (I have a screenshot of that, as well.) I am attaching a .clp File of a piece of text which I edited (the same with the screenshots I can supply if wanted). Apologies if I miss anything, this is the first time I'm reporting a bug through here. Thanks for all you do to create this awesome program.
Created attachment 170072 [details] Patreon post window displaying the error.
Created attachment 170073 [details] Edited words retain the old style, while the rest takes the style change from Courier to TNR
I added the screenshots. The Patreon Post window displays the missing space error. It is not visible in the LO file, and only appears when c/p-ing text into another interface. The LO screenshot shows the text style error (which I first noticed when importing files to Jutoh - very persistent there, needed manual editing). I write in Courier New, then switch the body text style to TNR before importing the file into Jutoh for ebook creation. As you can see the edited words still appear in Courier New and need to be manually changed to TNR. The Patreon post window part shows up in the text in the LO screenshot.

@Dieter: Editing is as simple as deleting a few letters and writing others in the LO Writer file. I can try to give you a screenshot, but that's rather pointless if you ask me, there is nothing to see there. The bug only shows up AFTER I start the formatting process of the file. Or after I copy/past the text into another LO file. See attachment. Editing steps: 1) Delete a word. 2) Write another word. Do you need a screenshot of that?
Created attachment 174935 [details] This is text as it looks in the file - after editing. Sorry, I don't have a before pic. As you can see, you see nothing strange. This the the file as it is now. It contains edited spots - where I replaced some words with other words. (dual-sport Yamaha, i.e.) As you can see, you see nothing unusual.
Created attachment 174936 [details] This is the same text, I did a simple copy/paste into a new file. As you can see, the edited spots retain the Courier New font. I can make a new file and then get more screenshots if you need it, but they will look exactly like this. Or would you like a video? (Not sure I can upload one here, but I can record my steps.)
Created attachment 174937 [details] TestFile before any editing. I create a new test file to reproduce the bug. This is written in New Courier, the file has not been saved.
Created attachment 174938 [details] TestFile c/p before editing. This is the text from the TestFile, c/p-ed to a new file BEFORE any editing. Everything converts well to the other font.
Created attachment 174939 [details] TestFile after editing. This is the Test file after I edited it. As you can see, I added a few words, deleted others and even added a new paragraph.
Created attachment 174940 [details] Text from TestFile as c/p-ed into another file, AFTER saving TestFile. BUG SHOWS UP. This is the text from the edited TestFile, c/p-ed into another LO file, after saving, closing and re-opening the Test file. The bug shows up very clearly. The words I edited in retain their Courier New font attribute. And if you look very closely, you can see that the new paragraph converted well... this is so weird.
It sounds to me like you have track changes on, and the paste is accepting the track changes. But I can't know that because you have only attached screenshots, and not an ODT file.
(In reply to Justin L from comment #13) > It sounds to me like you have track changes on, and the paste is accepting > the track changes. But I can't know that because you have only attached > screenshots, and not an ODT file. No reply in a year, so let's close assuming this was the explanation.
