Hi, a bizarre bug has recently cropped up in LibreOffice on the latest Tumbleweed release. (I'm not exactly sure when this regression appeared, but it's not more than a few weeks.) I'm trying to create a new Writer document from the standard template with the spellchecking language set to "Spanish (Spain)". But now when I try to type the word "nosotros", I type "nos" and it automatically changes it "nootros". Similarly when I try to type "queremos" I type "que" and it changes it to "quremos". I go to type "hablando" and it changes it to "halando". The only way to prevent this is to disable "Enable word completion" in the AutoCorrect options. The menu option Tools > AutoCorrect > While Typing makes *no* difference.

It seems to have something to do with typing a word incorrectly and then later try to type it correctly. For example, I typed the word "programacioon" (incorrectly spelled), and then without correcting it or doing anything else I again typed "pro" and it changes it to "prgrama".

There is also some weirdness with the AutoCorrect options under the "Word Completion" tab. The language selector menu there is set to "English (USA)" and it is greyed out, unchangeable. Then it shows Spanish words there in the list despite being set to English.

*EDIT:* I just tried it with the spelling language set to English, and it's doing the same thing. I type "something" correctly, and then the next time I type "som" it turns it into "soething".

To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

It looks like it requires corruption of the user profile. It doesn't happen immediately with a fresh ~/.config/libreoffice profile, but I can consistently reproduce it as follows:

1. Remove ~/.config/libreoffice
2. With the default language still in English type some correct English words
3. Change the AutoCorrect settings per my screenshot
4. Change the paragraph language to "Spanish (Spain)"
5. Type one of the same correct English words you typed before, it will be wrongly corrected with the 3rd letter deleted
6. Type any correct Spanish word >=8 letters
7. Start to type the same Spanish word, it will be wrongly corrected with the 3rd letter deleted
