Description Karl Schinke 2021-03-05 20:57:06 UTC
On a Thinkpad and in xenialpup64-7.5 and libreoffice 7.0.4.2, and having installed the helppack, I cannot get the help in the menu. I get the following message by invoking in a terminal and clicking on "help"(CRs added for clarity):

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://www.w3.org/2001/12/soap-envelope">
	<env:Body xmlns:rox="http://rox.sourceforge.net/SOAP/ROX-Filer">
             <env:Fault xmlns:rpc="http://www.w3.org/2001/12/soap-rpc"
                 xmlns:env="http://www.w3.org/2001/12/soap-envelope">
			<faultcode>Failed</faultcode>
			<faultstring>'/tmp/lu18567wqtr45.tmp/NewHelp0.html' is not a valid URI</faultstring>
		</env:Fault>
	</env:Body>
</env:Envelope>

What do I do to fix it?

How did you install LibreOffice 7.0 ? Did you install from deb, as snap or something else ?

What is "xenialpup64-7.5" ?

Please could you provide version information ? In menu Help > About LibreOffice, click on the button near "Version information" and paste here.

Status has been set to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested information has been provided.

Best regards. JBF

LibreOffice uses XDG to send commands to desktop applications.

https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/xdg-utils/

Please post here the output of the command

xdg-settings get default-web-browser

it should return something like "firefox.desktop" or more generally "<browser>.desktop".

to double check:

sudo xdg-settings check default-web-browser firefox.desktop
