Description: I have a .docx document where all pages are in "Default Page" page style. The "Default Page" style is set to "different header in the first page". If I save and close the document, when I open it again the first page is in "First Page" style. The following remain in "Default Page" style, but the style has been changed to "same header in all pages". This has started happening with version 7.0 (I think). Previously, when I opened .docx files they remained exactly as I had saved them. Now, to change between one-column and two-columns, it is necessary to go to the start of the document to change columns for the first page, and then go to some other page to change the remainder. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure all pages in the document are in "Default Page" style 2. Make sure page header is set to "first page is different" 3. Save as .docx 4. Close document 5. Open the document again Actual Results: The first page is now in "First Page" style The following pages are in "Default Page" style The header in "Default Page" styled pages is set to "same in every page" Expected Results: The first page remained in "Default Page" style. The header in "Default Page" style remained as "first page is different" Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: It shouldn't change styles unnecessarily, unasked and unconfirmed.
If the document is in .odt format, none of that happens.
Please attach ODT prepared in 1. and 2., no need for DOCX.
Created attachment 170733 [details] ODT document, all pages in "Default Page" style, header is different in first page Please, test the following: (1) Open this document. (2) Observe that there's three pages, all of them in "Default Page" style. (3) Observe that header options for "Default Page" style are set so that the first page has a different header. The header reads "Don Quijote de la Mancha" for the first page, and shows a PgNum/TotalPace counter in the remaining pages. This is all as intended. (4) Save the document as a Word 2007-365 .docx file. (5) Observe that the editing window now shows the .docx version, and the page styles and settings for the header are the same as in the original .odt file. So far it seems OK (6) Close the .dotx document (and its window) (7) Open the .dotx document again (8) Observe that the document looks the same, but... (9) Observe that the first page is now in "First Page" style. The header still reads "Don Quijote de la Mancha". (10) Observe that the remaining pages are in "Default Page" style. Observe the header options for pages in "Default Page" style now are "same content in every page". The styles have changed! Let's try to revert them: (11) Go to first page and set it to page style "Default Page". Observe that the header that read "Don Quijote de la Mancha" has disappeared, replaced by the same page counter as in the remaining pages. Set header style to "different for first page". Write or paste "Don Quijote de la Mancha as header text for the first page. Save. (12) You are now back at point (5).
Repro in 5.0 and 7.2+ for DOCX (not for DOC). So this is not new change, I guess it's implementation of different 1st page header.
