Description Ludwig 2021-04-22 02:33:28 UTC
Description:
If you try to copy a table object from one database (spreadsheet for instance) to a another database (mysql databse for instance), it would be a lot easier if the field type could be set for a group of fields instead of each one, specially if the table has many fields. Besides, by default "Text [ENUM]" type is selected automatically for text data, however, it never works for Mysql, instead you should select "Memo [Text]" type for it to work. I suggest all fields are set to Memo [Text] by default. Finally, it would be great if error report had more details.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.right click on a table object (from a spreadsheet)
2.click "copy"
3.right click on another database(mysql)
4.click Paste (definition and data) on the selected database
5.click button to add all fields
6.click "Next"
7.click "create"

Actual Results:
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near '"Abreviado" ENUM,"DESCRIPCION" ENUM,"PIA" ENUM,"PIM" ENUM,"NIVEL" DECIMAL,"EN...' at line 1 /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/libreoffice-7.1.1.2/connectivity/source/drivers/mysqlc/mysqlc_general.cxx:119

Expected Results:
Created the table correctly.

Reproducible: Always

You will need the right field type, not an easy way for set the same field type to many fields. That is the difference between Calc (no type is defined) and every database (every field has a special definition). So you have to set this field type for every field. If you create, for example, a varchar field instead of a decimal field you aren't able to calculate anything with this field.

I couldn't see the error you got. I would need a little example Calc file for reproduce it.
