Description Monika Magdalena 2021-05-16 14:35:05 UTC
Description:
For publishing on Amazon KDP some formatting features, like headings for chapters and so on, are translated to make the mobi version. Unfortunately some formatting, page breaks for example or the "Schusterjungen and Hurenkinder" regelung always make it necessary to debug the whole document again after saving and even then the supposedly rectified .doc file doesn't get properly transformed sometimes I wonder what could cause that.
I use Libre Office in German, because I write in German, English and French and love the choice and quality of all the spellcheck versions and that there are choices, like between US and UK English or Belgian and French French. But if there could be a possibility to transfer my formatting in .odt into stupid Microsoft (My favourite nickname being Microshit for all their products) files would save me a lot of time and effort in my writing and publishing.

Also I still use Windows 7, as it gives me the opportunity to keep their snooping out of my computer with a non Gates Firewall. I also use Firefox and only DuckDuckGo and am working on de-Googling my smartphone and notebook, so, really LibreOffice is my best choice, after having used Pagemaker four before, but not being able to afford a new version of PageMaker and also not knowing, If their conversion to .doc or .docx would be any better.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write an text over several pages with page breaks, Blocksatz formatting and Überschriften im Format Überschrift 1
2. Save as .odt
3. Save again as .doc
compare the result

Actual Results:
page breaks are different as the Blocksatz and Texfluß options are turning out different ly.

Expected Results:
What I see in my editing screen in .odt should be identical, when I open the .doc file, but even if I edit the .doc file agi to get the proper formatting, it still gets buggered and Amazon gets the formatting wrong.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
transferred the formatting correctly into a recognizable word equivalent.

manuscript for conversion into .doc

THe formatting gets lost somehow (headlines and paragraphs mainly) in saving as .doc
Comment 3 Timur 2021-05-20 06:18:46 UTC
You attached 351 pages ODT, without being specific what exactly changes.
Please reduce to minimal sample of 2-3 pages.
And explain what is "Blocksatz formatting and Überschriften im Format Überschrift 1"
