Description: With LibreOffice already open, opening a small ODT file of less than one page (simple text, no graphics) takes more than 30 seconds of spinning beachball slowness. Unless it simply crashes, which it does about 1/3 of the time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open LibreOffice 2. Open a document 3. Having some reading material on hand, because this is going to be a while Actual Results: Glacial slowness that makes Microsoft Word look nimble and sprightly. Expected Results: Open without needing snacks and reading material for the wait. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Being this slow for files this small (under 20 kb--that's KILObytes) must take serious and dedicated effort. Wordstar on my old 8088 Trash-80, reading from a 5 1/4" floppy disk was WAY faster.
-Did you try safe mode / reset your user profile? -Did you provide "Full Disk Access" to LibreOffice.app`

Yes. Tried creating a small test document, same problem. Have narrowed the problem down to picking the document from the Recent Files dialogue that pops up on program open. Happens with .RTF files too. Doesn't happen when selecting File, Open and selecting a file from the picker dialogue. Does happen when selecting from File, Recent Documents. In short, loading even very tiny files from Recent Documents is incredibly slow on the Mac version.
(In reply to orc4hire from comment #3) > > In short, loading even very tiny files from Recent Documents is incredibly > slow on the Mac version. But this is an indicator that the problem is within your LibreOffice user profile, since the recent document list is part of the file "registrymodifications.xcu" in you user profile (/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user). In consequence, I'm confused about what "Yes" in your last comment does really mean with respect to "reset of user profile".
