Description: Hi, I found that the LibreOffice change the fields codes of EndNote fields in MS Word file. After opening the file in LibreOffice and re-saving, the Fields cannot be recognized by MS Word any more. Actual Results: I have a MS Word file (.docx) with some references created by EndNote reference manager software. As you know, the references are coded as fields. This is the first line of an example field code in Word: { ADDIN EN.CITE <EndNote><Cite><Author>Crossley KM</Author><Year>2016... But after opening the file in LibreOffice and re-saving it, the fields changed to: {ADDIN EN.CITE <EndNote><Cite><Author>Crossley KM</Author><Year>2016... A simple space was removed by LibreOffice and this causes the EndNote in MS Word doesn't recognize the field as a reference. Expected Results: The EndNote extension in MS Word doesn't recognize the new fields and cannot update, modify and continue the citation. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: A simple space after the first character { can fix the issue. I tried it and it worked. {ADDIN EN.CITE { ADDIN EN.CITE Please fix this issue. This incompatibly does not allow me to work with my academic team.
Please attach a sample file to test.
Created attachment 172831 [details] MS Word file with EndNote fields (as references)
(In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1) > Please attach a sample file to test. Hi, I attached a file. in MS Word, if you right click on the reference [1] in the text and select "Toggle Field Codes", you can see the field codes. Then Open this file in LibreOffice Writer and just save it without any change. Again open the file in MS Word and check the field codes. You will see that a space after { is omitted by LibreOffice. Best, Mohammadreza
Since EndNote is commercial product, I confirm with attached file and description. Saving field was wrong with 4.2max. Repro LO 4.3 and 7.3+.
