Description Hernan 2021-06-21 12:27:09 UTC
Description:
Easily and directly insert several images (drag & drop) to a new document and visualize them one below the other. Make this as a default behaviour

Please see how the same procedure happens/is-shown-in "Google Docs".
This is of much more

During this pandemic time, I have been continuously creating a single document from various scanned images and then printing them for my kids to do homework.
The school teachers sent always several images (scanned of not) to my kids for their homework.
This work was really simple and direct with Google Docs, a mess with LibreOffice. It was such a pity, I could have introduced/teache my kids to use LibreOffice instead of Google Docs.

Tags: EDITING, IMAGE, ALIGNMENT

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Writer empty document.
2. Drag & Drop several images from the file system to the document.

Actual Results:
3. All images appear one over the other

Expected Results:
4. It would be great and of much more use (for the great majority, I think) that all the images would appear one below the other, better if centered or left-aligned.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Other enhancement I would love to have:
5. Most of the times the scanned images had bad contrast and I had to edit them in GIMP before for 2 main reasons:

a) Lighten the background of the images to save printer toner/ink.
b) Enhance contrast.

To be able to have this two filters/tools inside Writer would be great!
Comment 1 Hernan 2021-06-21 12:48:38 UTC
I use the GIMP tool/filter Dodge/Burn to lighten(eliminate) the background (of scanned images) and enhance contrast.

I think there is an easy way to do it with Impress.

Menu/Insert/Media/Photo Album.
