Description: LibreOffice Writer – Issue with the [Paragraph Selection] section status bar When clicking on the [Paragraph Selection] section, the icon stays the same, but if I move the mouse pointer away from the [Paragraph Selection] section then move the mouse pointer back to the [Paragraph Selection] section, the tool tip changes (Standard, Extending, Adding, and Block) ◦ In the thefrugalcomputerguy’s tutorial on LibreOffice v3 Writer, the text in the [Paragraph Selection] section switches between: STD, EXT, ADD, BLK showing visual evidence of the change. Thanks, Tracey Actual Results: When clicking on the [Paragraph Selection] section, the icon stays the same, but if I move the mouse pointer away from the [Paragraph Selection] section then move the mouse pointer back to the [Paragraph Selection] section, the tool tip changes (Standard, Extending, Adding, and Block) Expected Results: In the thefrugalcomputerguy’s tutorial on LibreOffice v3 Writer, the text in the [Paragraph Selection] section switches between: STD, EXT, ADD, BLK showing visual evidence of the change. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.0.6.2 (x64) Build ID: 144abb84a525d8e30c9dbbefa69cbbf2d8d4ae3b CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
I can't confirm it with Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 949658028e722e5d2657b503eb20e16e41dbd8cf CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB Calc: CL Tooltip is always "Standard selection. Click to change selection mode."
It seems there was a recent change. In 7.1.4 there is no change, but in 7.3 I see the icon changes according to the selection mode. Also, now you left-click and select the mode from a menu. Please try Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html It installs separately and will not mess with your stable version. NixOS Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: b1df9c67349cf4cc5be4128d797aefb87f50e38f CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.13; UI render: default; VCL: x11 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Version: 7.1.4.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 10(Build:2) CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Yes, LibreOfficeDev 7.3 does correct the problem. Thanks, Tracey
