Description: LibreOffice should add drag-and-drop of rows or columns just like Apple Numbers or Quip do it. That's way more convenient than inserting then copying then pasting and finally removing the previous raws/columns. Currently, to move a column or a row, it necessary co copy its whole content, then insert a new column or row, paste the content inside and delete the previous one. By enabling drag-and-drop it would save time and bring things easier. You click on the field and move it away. Several columns or rows should be movable together. Actual Results: Currently, to move a column or a row, it necessary co copy its whole content, then insert a new column or row, paste the content inside and delete the previous one. Expected Results: You click on the field and move it away. Several columns or rows should be movable together. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: /

Hold down Alt key while dragging after selecting the row or column
It doesn't work for me. Tried with under MacOS X 10.14 and under Xubuntu 20.04 with both LibreOffice 7.1.4.

It duplicates de row or the column, it does't love it. You still have to erase the old one. Plus de cursor is not very convenient, just a small black square dot.

The cursor is not a small black square dot So it seems you are not doing it the same way as me.
I only press down the alt key and this this what I get. It works under Linux, but not Macos.

I did not find similar functionality for Alt keys in OS X. Option key ⌥ on OS X works like Alt + Ctrl and Alt + Ctrl + Shift on Win. I made a try under Windows, it's not a real drag-and-drop feature anyway. First the cursor must be placed exactly on the border of the selected column. If you don't have a good view or working on a laptop with the trackpad, it's a nightmare to be done. Then, once the column has been moved, the older one still remains in position. Only the datas are moved. So it needs anyway to remove the previous column at the end. The expected behaviour is to click on the column header and move it to its new location just like on this screenshot, without any special additional pressed key, something simple and easy.

So I think what you're saying is that this should be more user friendly? I tested a bit in macOS Excel and there's no easy way there either as far as I can tell FYI: There's a separate bug 58440 on quite a bit of this functionality being broken/not as described in the help

Give a try with Numbers instead. If this can be done with LibreOffice, that's gonna be a feature killer.
