Description HTK300 2021-08-09 13:49:21 UTC
Description:
I had a pdf file open, no graphics just text, I copied that and wanted to paste it into an newly created file, every time LO crashed (Apple macOS 10.13.)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to NAS drive and open any PDF with text
2. select a part of text and copy to the clipboard
3. open new pdf document in LO and paste that clipboard into the new odt
4. LO crashes every time

Actual Results:
LO hangs and needs to be killed

Expected Results:
paste of pdf content should be successful

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
paste of pdf content should be successful without crash

Hint (additional note)

that content of the pdf file which seems to have caused the crash was created earlier on a Windows machine, edited from within the Email client Thunderbird.

When I just created a new pdf file of the same content from my Apple computer,
the copy paste went fine without crashing the LO app.

corrupt pdf file causing crash of LO

corrupt pdf file created within Windows environment causing crash of LO when importing its content, no matter from a NAS drive or a local disk. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

Does this still occur on just released 7.3?

What are the steps to reproduce? It's not entirely clear if I should try to open the PDF in Preview or LO, and what text should I copy?

I tried copying all the text from Preview to a normal LO window, and that works fine
Comment 5 HTK300 2022-02-09 08:26:06 UTC
the point here was, that the erroneous behavior was caused by the pdf file from the NAS drive, which later I found was corrupt. I mentioned this before, that when using a pdf file which was fine, all went perfekt when copying content over.
so works for me.
sorry the inconnvenience I caused.
