Description MarjaE 2021-08-25 04:45:58 UTC
Description:
I can't change the order of layers in LibreOffice Draw.

Layout, Controls, Dimension Lines, etc. I created extra layers for some of my projects. Since 1. the layer labels are unreadably small, and 2. pasting to a locked layer screws everything up, I want to put the extra layers in the same order in each file.

Note that this is not about the order of objects from front to back. This is about the order of layers from Layout to whatever I want to put on the right of that list.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a Draw document.
2. Create 2 new layers.
3. Try to change the order of the layers in the list at the bottom.

Actual Results:
There's no clear way to change this, and looking online, there are a lot of irrelevant answers about how to change front to back order... and then explanations that there's no way to change list order.

Expected Results:
Being able to change list order.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Now if it were possible to read the list, that might make it less important to reorder it. But the text is far too small, the text in Preferences is also far too small, and if I squnit I can find some Font options that do nothing...

A can't read About LibreOffice or copy and paste from it.

I tried adding new layers as a workaround, but LibreOffice added them out of order too...

Layers will be added relative to the layer tab with focus.

Layers are not like sheets in Calc, they can not be dragged or otherwise moved to a new position.

If you need a fixed set of layer tabs with fixed names--create a template once and reuse it for subsequent drawings.

Layers can be hidden.

Layers can be locked so objects can not be changed.
