Description Max 2021-09-22 20:41:38 UTC
Using LO v. 7.2.1.2 .

I'm using Writer to edit a 60-page document that contains a number of pictures and formatted text.

From time to time (but not all the times), I see Auto-Save taking place (green progress bar advancing in the bottom of the window) and suddenly the program crashes.

Fortunately, when I restart Writer, auto-recovery starts and most of the times I can get my document back (apart from the edits made after the last successful autosave). That's anoying, however...

Seen in both my laptop and desktop PC, under Windows 10-64bit.

Regards,
Max - Italy

I'm continuing to use Writer: actually, the crash happens on *Save*, either manual or Auto.

It looks like some exception occurs when I edit and format a long paragraph (longer than 1 page) with pictures on the side. Writer crashes more likely if, while adjusting the position relative to the paragraph, the picture "slips" to the next page, even if I set it to is proper place, after this occurred.

Kind regards,
Massimo

Max, thank you for reporting the bug. Does it happen with ever document or only with a specific document? If it only happens with a specific document it will be unpossible to confirm the bug without the document. Further question: Does it also happen in SafeMode (Help => Restart in SafeMode)?
