When using Tabbed Interface there's no way to access certain features, such as AutoCorrect Options or tools->addons. When I want to use them, I have to switch to the classic interface, which is very cumbersome.
Sure there is, and its simple/non-cumbersome--expose the Main menu! First button on the Tabbed NB--hide it when not needed.
I would have NEVER guessed that. I assumed that all the options not accessible from the tabbed menu would be tucked away in the "tools" dropdown on the far right (just above the "Options" button). I think it would be good idea to put these options in that dropdown, so the Tabbed NB can be used fully without showing the classic menu
OK, I don't see too great a need, but some of the UNO controls linked from 'Standard' menu could be added to the Tabbed NB 'Tools' tab's 'Tools' list button. Perhaps the 'AutoCorrect' or 'AutoCorrect Options...' dialog. And maybe the 'Customize...' dialog. Anything else from the 'Tools' menu? @Andreas, Samuel?
Please make first a list of commands that are missing. For example AutoCorrect command is in the drop down menu in the Review tab. In general the commands are grouped according the tabs and if a command is not very common, it was located at the dropdown menu in the specific tab. That was a design decission.

Understood, but any leftovers?

Another option that's missing in the tabbed menu is the "insert > Horizontal line". The tabbed layout is great most of the time, but sometimes I'm left scratching my head as why certain options are omitted :D
Code pointer: find . -name notebookbar.ui

The tabbed layout is great most of the time, but sometimes I'm left > scratching my head as why certain options are omitted :D the reason is, that Horizontal line isn't a uno command it's a style which mean it's not possible to add - like it is now - horizontal line to the NB.
Could it at least be added to the dropdown on the right? (see attachment)

Re-evaluating the EasyHack in 2022 This enhancement is still relevant. "Insert Horizontal line" is not available via the tabbed interface. In MS Word, it is available among a set of operations related to the borders that you can set for a paragraph. (In reply to andreas_k from comment #4) > Please make first a list of commands that are missing. Yes, I think the list of missing commands is needed if someone wants to go beyond just "Insert Horizontal line".
Another missing option is "Insert Trend Line"
I am working on this patch. I'm going to be adding the horizontal line function to the insert dropdown on the right-hand side. I'm also going to be adding the autocorrect options to the review dropdown. I'll be doing the same for tabbed compact.
