Libre Office like Microsoft Word has problems with writing from right to left. You could make a setting, like a button, where the user decides which side to write. Because with the automatic setting the software gives problems. I would like the software to always write to the left. Then when one activates writing to the right the software starts writing to the right. I have some ideas even if I am not yet a expert programmer, please contact me to find out what I would like Libre Office to do at this address simoaiello@hotmail.it
I would like to change the importance of the bug because while working I am realizing that in the current state it is practically impossible to write in the Hebrew alphabet and in the Latin alphabet in the same lines. Even just selecting text is a problem. Thanks to anyone who can take care of it
Thanks for reporting this issue. Could you please paste the info from Help - about LibreOffice ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' once the information has been provided

You can change the text direction from Format - Page Style, Page tab, Text Direction. Closing as RESOLVED NOTABUG
Thanks Bro, actually it's not that simple ... the problem is integrating text that the computer counts from left to right with text that the computer counts from right to left. In my opinion, this way of making things work creates conflicts. For example, try to write in Hebrew and in English ... you will see that Office does not respond well to this kind of integration. It is actually a problem with all video writing programs
This bug, as reported, seems invalid. Simone, I suggest you spend a bit of time writing down _very explicitly and specifically_: * A scenario in which both Hebrew and English are used. * How you would _expect_ LibreOffice to behave. * How LibreOffice _actually_ behaves. Don't use vague phrases like "problems", "does not respond well", etc. You could also record a short video with the behavior you find problematic and an explanation. If this is difficult for you to do in English, and you want to do this, in, say, Italian - that's better than not doing it at all. Someone else will likely translate for the rest of us.
Try doing the following things: 1 - You write something in Hebrew and then in Latin: גםמעננגעמ dgjbdgobi The computer correctly writes in Hebrew and then, on the right, in Latin. 2 - You write something in Hebrew and then some numbers: םןעחקאעןםנמ 16715165 The computer writes the numbers to the left of the Hebrew. And you can't make it write them to the right. 2 b - If after writing in Hebrew, I write in Latin and then I write numbers, the writing follows the model of point 1: םןעחקאעןםנמ gfbnfhn 16715165 3 - It is written in Hebrew, then a parenthesis is opened, and then it is written in Hebrew inside the parenthesis: גמגגכםמה (נמעןמננמע) The computer writes in Hebrew, and then, on the left, it writes the parenthesis containing others written in Hebrew. And you can't make the parenthesis is written to the right. For these reasons, I recommended leaving the choice of the writing direction to the user and not to the computer. I suggest to make the writing direction manual, rather than automatic.
In addition to changing the writing direction in styles, you can use the formatting marks to change the writing direction manually. They are in menu Insert > Formatting Mark > 'Right-to-left Mark' or 'Left-to-right Mark' respectively.
Ok thanks I think this solves my problem ... at least it seems to me. Thanks Regina, I did not know of the existence of the formatting marks ... they are in the Superscripts and Subscripts category of Unicode, thanks, I tried and of course, they also work in microsoft word
