Spreadsheet to demonstrate range failure

1. Open LibreOffice Calc sheet untitled 1.xlsx with numbers in cells C3:G3 ($1.00 - $5.00)
2. Add the sum function to Cell B3
3. Can't define the range from G3 to C3 (only from G3 to D3)

Note: Works if range is defined as C3:G3

Trying again, no difference with excel. (Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2109 Build 16.0.14430.20154) 32-bit )
Comment 7 Palmtree 2021-10-11 09:21:00 UTC
Yes I have reproduce the same bug in Excel.

Excel default column width is 10.86 (not sure what unit???)
It seems wider than LO Cal default columns width of 2.2578 cm

In Excel I have noticed no issue up to column width of 7
As soon as I reduce the columns width to 6 (or lesser), I am able to reproduce the same bug in excel.

I thig Excel has similar limitation, and it is been manipulated by setting the default column width to higher value than LO Cal

Click top left corner of LO Cal (to highlight all sheet)
Change all cell font size to 8 pt
Problem solved

Please don't do such thing, you are putting a direct formatting on the whole sheet, what it's really a bad idea.

Instead, you can edit 'Default' cell style. Then you can save as a default template, so it is applied to every new spreadsheet.

There is already a bug request.
