Description Radish 2021-10-27 18:19:41 UTC
On page 88 of the Guide it states: "To change characters into subscripts or superscripts (using the default values for size and position), select them and click the relevant buttons on the Formatting toolbar or the Character panel in the Sidebar. For more control, use the Character dialog."

The problem with this is that there are no Character Styles named as 'Superscript' or 'Subscript' in the Character panel. So the manual needs to take account of this.

Or, another way of dealing with this, is to get the developers to actually include Character Styles that deal with Superscript and Subscript.

I think there is nothing wrong with the Guide, you are just misunderstanding it.

To access "the Character panel in the Sidebar", you need to first click the "Properties" icon instead of "Styles" on the sidebar (this is called "Properties Deck" and "Styles Deck" in LibreOffice terminology, BTW), then find "Characters" section in "Properties" sidebar, clicking on the plus sign to expand if necessary. This is the "Character panel" (a deck contains many panels, like a deck of cards) the Guide is referring to, not anything in the "Styles" sidebar as you thought.

I do not see a problem with the documentation. It's just a misunderstanding of what the guide actually means.

I would recommend amending the corresponding help page, since it does not mention the possibility of using the sidebar.
