Hello,

Thank you for filing the bug. For the test, could you rename your LibreOffice directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) or run LibreOffice in safe mode (https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/shared/01/profile_safe_mode.html) and give it a new try? Thank you

I removed version 7.1.7.2 completely and changed back to 6.4 as I could not wait for a solution (most of my work is based on LO).
So thanks for your efforts, but I can not perform tests any more in the configuration that caused the crashes.

Hans, please understand that bug makes sense only if clear and reproducible.
In case of crashes, deleting/resetting user profile is standard measure.
So it would be nice to know what happens with new LO.

Now that you are at 6.4 again, keep it for work, but please do:
- install http://tdf.io/siguiexe that downloads and just extracts other LO versions (it calls it "installation" but it's not, working LO remains intact)
- update list of versions and download and "install" i.e. extract LO 7.1.8.1 and create shortcut
- also please LO 7.3.0.1

When just installed or extracted, LO profile is default and we would know if it works.
If you do that, change to Unconfirmed.

Also, in https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/7.1 you may see:

Because of updated Python's change bpo-36085, LibreOffice now requires KB2533623 on Windows 7. The mentioned update is not directly available from Microsoft anymore, but KB3063858 (32-bit/64-bit) may be used, that superseded the older one (details in tdf#144902)

So, please try to install https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=47442
Comment 6 Hans 2022-02-18 10:36:14 UTC
The problem was apparently caused by the missing W7 update. After installing KB3063858 - LO Version 7.1 ran without problems (and maybe even a little faster than 6.4.) with no further carshes. I will test Vers. 7.3 in near future but I dont expect any problebs.

So thank you for your help!

More generally, may I politely suggest to add a remark e.g. to the download page if cerain version NEEDS a certain Windows update. Thank you all.
