Description llightwo 2022-01-19 02:39:32 UTC
Description:
If I create a docx file using LiberOffice Writer, then insert an OLE object of type Adobe Acrobat Document, then save the file, I can double click on the document in Writer and it'll open up in Adobe Reader. However, if I open the docx file in Microsoft Word and double click on the inserted object, it reports an error and I can't open the Adobe document.

The reverse is no problem, i.e. if I insert the Adobe Acrobat Document using Word, I can double click on it after opening the docx file using LibreOffice Writer and the Adobe document is displayed properly.

I am using the latest Microsoft 365 version of Word, on Windows 11 64 bit.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice Writer and create a new document
2.Add some text
3.In the middle of the text, choose Insert -> Object -> OLE Object
4.In the popup window, choose Further objects
5.In the new popup window, choose Adobe Acrobat Document.
6.Click OK.
7.Adobe Acrobat DC or Adobe Reader opens, go to that window and choose the PDF to insert.
8.Back in LibreOffice Writer, the Adobe Document should be inserted and the first page displayed.
9.Double click on the inserted object, it should open in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat DC etc.
10.Close Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
11.Back in LibreOffice Writer, Choose File -> Save As and save as Word 2007-365 (*.docx)
12.Quit LibreOffice Writer.
13.Open the .docx file using Microsoft Word
14.Double click on the inserted Adobe Document.
15.Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC etc. opens up and either display nothing, or says that there was an error.

Actual Results:
Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC etc. opens up and either display nothing, or says that there was an error.

Expected Results:
Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC etc. should open up and display the Adobe document.

Reproducible: Always
