The BASIC DateValue function documentation says "Returns a date value from a date string. The *date string* is a complete date in a single numeric value. " The second sentence probably meant to say "The return value..." instead of "The date string...".
Code pointer: helpcontent2/source/text/sbasic/shared/03030102.xhp:37: <paragraph role="paragraph" id="par_id3150542" xml-lang="en-US">Returns a date value from a date string. The date string is a complete date in a single numeric value. You can also use this serial number to determine the difference between two dates.</paragraph>
The sentence does need some improvement: https://help.libreoffice.org/7.4/en-US/text/sbasic/shared/03030102.html?DbPAR=BASIC#bm_id3156344 I'll work on it.
