Description dentar 2022-02-20 18:12:55 UTC
Description:
Plasma 5.24.1, LibreOffice 7.2.5.2
use, for example the libreoffice suite (writer, calc,... it's not important)
Take LO calc, enter a cell, start typing

Now go into the symbol-bar of LO, chose another font.
If you are lucky, then you can continue typing.
If so, type something, chose another font, try to continue (repeat until the error appears, take 2 or 3 different fonts)

In case of error, the cursor disappears and no further input is possible. The app seems to hang (but isn't)

This does not really seem to be a bug in LO, because there is a simple (but annoying) workaround:
Press alt-Tab to switch to another app, immediately press alt-Tab again to switch back to LO.
Cursor is back again in its full glory, blinking as if nothing happened.
Continue typing in the new font.

Repeat chosing new fonts, and the error reappears...
I might be tempted to think this is a problem with font rendering and refreshing of the current input??

This sounds familiar - there were some focus-related KDE bugs some time ago, but they are fixed now. Do you still see this with 7.4? I can't reproduce it myself.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
