I suggest turning off the presenter console by default for new users. Many hundreds of users to whom I put LO, asked how to disable this setting. I think it can be done here: libreoffice/sd/source/ui/inc/optsitem.hxx:199: bool bEnablePresenterScreen : 1; => 0 libreoffice/sdext/source/presenter/PresenterScreen.cxx:254: bool dEnablePresenterScreen=true; => false
Many hundreds? Really? I never heard such a request and I strongly disagree. I think that the right way to give satisfaction to these "hundreds" of users could be to have two commands to launch the slideshow, one with the presenter console and one without. Or to add an option in the dialog Slideshow Settings. Best regards. JBF
Artem, if I understood you in our channel right the problem that have your hundreds users is they all have TWO presenter consoles instead only one: one on first display and the second on a second display, right?

No. The problem is that when duplicating screens, it is not the presentation that is duplicated on two screens, but the presentation console. Users use a computer and a projector.

And all the teachers, regardless of how they set up the screens (continuation of the screen or duplication of the screen), said that they did not need the console and asked to turn it off. This has been more than a hundred jobs for several years.

Stephané, please confirm the issue. I don't get the two screen + duplicate presenter console issue. Artem, are you aware of with tools > options > impress > general > use presenter console? See https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/simpress/guide/presenter_console.html
Can't reproduce with two or three monitors, either extending (aka "joining") or duplicating (aka "mirroring") them, on: Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: ec2f1d73936c9d8cee83c0887170e9ecb8f044ba CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Nor in: Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e114eadc50a9ff8d8c8a0567d6da8f454beeb84f CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Right now, the presenter console is supposed to open by default when there is more than one monitor, and I think that makes perfect sense as a default setting. However, if you see a duplicated presenter console, that sounds like a bug and you should give us more details about the version and system you can reproduce the issue on so we can investigate: - Info copied from About dialog, including the OS - Precise steps to follow - Test a more recent version (e.g. 7.3.7 or 7.4.3) Thanks!
