Description venushka@protonmail.com 2022-05-09 21:30:37 UTC
Description:
I created a super simple spreadsheet; 2 columns with sum formulas after the first 3 rows, then, in both columns, a sum formula dependent on the first sum formula the sum formulas in the second column will only recalculate when forced = F9.

After noticing the issue, I saved and exited LibreOffice hoping it was a temporary glitch that might be cleared. Upon re-opening the spreadsheet autocalc seemed to work until I created a few more columns with sum formulas, the new sum formulas and even some of the original sum formulas required forced recalculation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.enter number in cell
2.expect auto calculate to calculate new total
3.no new total

Actual Results:
I created a super simple spreadsheet; 2 columns with sum formulas after the first 3 rows, then, in both columns, a sum formula dependent on the first sum formula The sum formulas in the second column will only recalculate when forced = F9, however, the sum formulas in the first column seem to recalculate automatically.

Expected Results:
a new total

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Software should recalculate totals

I'm not a software engineer/programmer, just an end user trying to get a fix.
If a spreadsheet cannot recalculate on it's own, it's nearly useless. Who knows what kind of problems this would create for an accountant or engineer. Thankfully, I was working on a simple spreadsheet and could see the error right away.

Thanks for the report

Could you please attach the simple spreadsheet demonstrating the autocalculate failing. Issues with autocalculate not working are circulating, but lacking concrete reproducible examples

Is anyone looking at this?
Comment 6 Telesto 2022-07-16 06:53:59 UTC
I'm not seeing any issue. Which cell should I modify and with what value?

Data -> Calculate -> AutoCalculate is turned on?

More in general a user profile reset might help

I honestly don't know how to answer this. As I stated in my original post, the auto recalculate does not always work.

"I created a super simple spreadsheet; 2 columns with sum formulas after the first 3 rows, then, in both columns, a sum formula dependent on the first sum formula. The sum formulas in the second column will only recalculate when forced = F9."

Maybe it was already fixed in an update?

Ok, let's try again. Do you still reproduce the problem with attachment 180189 [details] using version 7.4? If yes, tell us which cell you modified and which exact column it is that refuses to update.
